Echocardiographic Guidance for Impella RP Flex™ with SmartAssist™ Positioning
Welcome to Echocardiographic Guidance for Impella RP Flex™ with SmartAssist™ Positioning. This course focuses on the practical use of echocardiography to support safe and effective positioning of the Impella RP Flex device. Building on foundational knowledge of right heart echocardiography, you will learn how standard transthoracic (TTE) and transesophageal (TEE) views are used to visualize device components, confirm appropriate inlet and outlet positioning and identify findings that suggest suboptimal placement.
You will explore the echocardiographic appearance of the Impella RP Flex, review positioning best practices, and examine how multiple imaging views are integrated to guide and confirm correct device alignment during right‑sided mechanical support.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify the inlet and outlet components of the Impella RP Flex on echocardiography.
- Assess correct Impella RP Flex positioning using standard TEE and TTE views.
- Recognize echocardiographic findings that indicate suboptimal or incorrect device position.
- Apply echocardiographic principles to confirm safe and effective right‑sided mechanical support.
Upon completion, you will have access to your certificate, which details credits earned for the curriculum completion (0.5 for AACN). To complete the course, you must finish all modules and pass the final quiz.
